One Shop = 5 Meals
Why do we give?
To align with our mission: Jordbarn aims to inspire the next generation, to enable children to unleash their vast potential for much-needed change and ultimately to make a positive difference on earth for the future of all.
Zero hunger and clean water
820 million people worldwide struggle daily to meet basic needs such as access to water, nutrition and sanitation. Clean, accessible water for all is an essential part of the world we want to live in and there is sufficient fresh water on the planet to achieve this. However, due to bad economics or poor infrastructure, millions of people including children die every year from diseases associated with inadequate water supply, sanitation and hygiene.
Reduce the cycle of poverty and provide a better education
We can do far more together than we can alone. When children go to school to eat, they stay to learn, which helps to break the generational cycle of poverty.
For many children, school is the only time in a day they will be fed a meal and eating is one of the only reasons many children even attend school. Without the nourishment of school meals, majority of students will go without. Providing nutritious meals in schools helps to support the difficult journey out of poverty. No one, charity nor person can end malnutrition alone, a small act can collectively create a big impact. One meal at a time.
Health and Wellbeing
Every child on this planet has the right to proper nutrition. To change the lives of children with poor nutrition remains an immense and a universal problem, with one in three people on this planet affected by some form of malnutrition being adversely affected by vitamin and mineral deficiencies. The need for successful school feeding programs around the globe creates hope physically and emotionally giving children an opportunity to a better future.
Gender equality
Education and opportunities for females in Africa is far lower than their male counterparts. Girls have greater risks of poverty and being marginalised in society. By providing school meals for children, parents are not divided when faced with poverty. Often a household can only afford to send - if any, one child to school and almost always they will send a son. Currently women are more likely to be food insecure than men. Providing school meals at a young age to both girls and boys means gender equality can step forward and create hope to break this cycle.
Our Goal
To provide 100,000 school meals this year. Join us on the fight to help achieve Zero Hunger.
How do we give?
We make a monthly transfer to No Hungry Children. No Hungry Children are feeding school meals to children in the slums of Africa where the situation is most alarming. We make donations at the end of every calendar month.
Bolder actions are needed to achieve Zero Hunger by 2030. For decades world hunger has been decreasing but this isn’t true anymore.

We can all make a small difference.
Together for every shop we will donate five school meals. ONE SHOP = 5 MEALS
